Fifth and Sixth Class were delighted to welcome Mr. John Phayer to the school to talk to them about researching their family tree. John spoke to the students about how to research archival material and trace their family roots. He gave an excellent presentation and the students are now very much looking forward to working on their ancestry project. Sincere thanks to Michael O' Halloran and Mary O' Callaghan of the Kenry Historical Society for organising the visit. These projects will be on display in the school on 'Proclamation Day' March 15th 2016 . Proclamation Day will be a special day of celebration in our school. Parents, guardians, family members and the local community are invited to join us for a Flag Raising Ceremony and a concert and are welcome to visit the classrooms to view the history projects completed by the children as part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme.
