The Mayor of Limerick City and County Mr. Steven Keary came to visit Scoil Mhuire today. The Junior and Senior Infants waved their flags to welcome him. Ross gave the welcoming speech and all the pupils gathered in the Halla to ask him questions. They wanted to know were the chains made of real gold and were amazed to find out they were and that they weighed a kilogram and were insured for 70,000 euro. He was asked everything from what his favourite colour was, to who did he think would win the Munster Hurling Final. He predicted Clare would win and that his daughter Ms. Keary was born in Clare ! He gave us the good news that money had been granted for a pedestrian crossing in the village. We were all delighted to hear this good news. Kirsty gave the thank you speech and then everybody had their photograph taken with the Mayor. The children were delighted the Mayor brought ice creams for everyone in the audience and all agreed ''he was the best Mayor ever !''
