History of School

Scoil Mhuire, Pallaskenry opened in January 1977. It comprised of four classrooms and a G.P. room. There were three teachers and seventy pupils in the school. Máirtín Ó Corrbuí was principal and Mary O'Callaghan and Mairéad O'Rourke were assistant teachers.

In 1983, Cluain Mhuire, a new housing estate, was built in the village. The number of pupils on roll increased to 229 and there was a need for extra accommodation. Three pre-fab classrooms were erected on the site.

In 2005, a large extension was completed, comprising of two classrooms, two resource rooms, a library, a garden shed, boiler house and a P.E. hall. The existing classrooms were renovated, and a new roof was put on. A new entrance and car-parking facilities were also provided.
