Homework Note Week 28

Post date: 27-Mar-2017 14:03:17

Dear Parents,

Thank you for ensuring that all the children have their tools for school (pencils, rubbers, whiteboard markers, ear phones etc) they need for school. These are essential for the smooth running of the class. If your child needs something I will list it here ________________.

We will have a religious inspector visiting the school this week. So the children may get homework off on one of the nights if they do well. (I’m sure they will J)

We made some clay pots last week and will grow some cress seeds in the next few days. Most of the children completed another Maths Assessment Test. Please sign and return that to me if you see it in the homework folder.

Word Wallet activities.

This week we are learning words that have the “ow” sound that sounds like /ou/

1. Ask the children to make a word or words using the sounds (green cards) they already have.

2. Try to make these words

3. owl, cow, now (Mon)

4. down, town, brown (Tues)

5. crown, towel, tower (Weds)

6. shower, powder, gown (Thurs)

7. See if they can make other words with a “ow” but with the /ou/ sound.

Click into http://www.ictgames.com/phonemePatterns/index.html or on the ICT GAMES link on the right side of our class webpage to see list of words containing of all these sounds we have been learning.

Tricky Word activities. – We are now almost finished the Tricky Words 5 list – blue words

1. Match the coloured card to its place on the white card.

2. Say the word.

3. Ask the children for a sentence with that word in it. (I saw that they were lost.)

We are learning about the weather. Please fill in the weather chart each day.
