Homework Note Week 33

Dear Parents,
It is planned that the major will visit the school on Tuesday morning. 1st class will be completing the standardised Micra (English) and Sigma (Maths) tests on Tuesdays the 23rd and 30th of May. Please let me know if you child will not be here on those days.
Word Wallet activities.
This week we are learning words that have a magic e at the end and contain the ‘a’ sound
1. ate, ape, game (Mon)
2. lane, gate, save (Tues)
3. made, name, cake (Weds)
4. bake, wake, make (Thurs)

Tricky Word activities. – We are learning the Tricky Words 7 list – yellow words
1. Match the coloured card to its place on the white card.
2. Say the word.
3. Ask the children for a sentence with that word in it. (I saw that they were lost.)
We are continuing to learn the Yellow Words this week – Tricky Words list 7. We are drawing some bar graphs and using a tally to count. Hurling continues on Mondays and Thursdays. We plan to have a class hurling blitz on Thursday week the 26th (TBC) at the GAA pitch 1-2pm. The class will play as Clare, Cork, Kilkenny and Tipperary teams.
