Homework Week 29

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your support with the book fair. We have Literacy Lift Off up and running now in the class on 4 days per week. That will continue for 4 weeks. We will have a word check on the Tricky Words number 5 this week. They are the blue words in the word wallet. We will be learning about capacity in class in the next week. The children will need a vessel (e.g a plastic cup, bowl or beaker) so we can compare what holds more or less. I will give these back in a week or two.

Reminders

PE days are Mondays and Wednesdays. We are hurling.

Our School Tour this year will be on Friday June 17^th.

Literacy Lift Off is an intervention that gives children lots of opportunities to read books at their own level of competency and gradually lift the complexity of what they can do in both reading and writing. There is a link on our class website with more information.

Word Wallet activities.

Jolly Phonics – We are learning about words with an “u” with the silent or magic e at the end.

Please get the children to make up the following words. 2 per night

tune, cube, tube, cute, use, huge, prune, dune

Tricky Word activities. – Children will continue learning the Tricky Words. We are learning the yellow List 7. See the Tricky words prezi on our class website. We use this in class to practice.

In Maths will be learning about capacity. What container holds more or less?
