Homework Note Week 29

Dear Parents,
Thank you for sending in those absence notes. We need to assign a reason for every absence for the department. Our Aistear theme is now the “Vikings”. If you have any books or items that would help us play, please send them in. Last week we werelearning “aw” words you child got ____ words.
Hurling will continue now on Tuesdays and Fridays (not Thursday as before). Team Teaching continues on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
Word Wallet activities.
This week we are learning words that have the “al” spelling that sounds like the /or/ in /ee//or/ - the sound the donkey makes!
1. tall, all, fall (Mon)
2. ball, walk, chalk (Tues)
3. small, call (Weds)
4. talk, salt, malt (Thurs)
5. Click into http://www.ictgames.com/phonemePatterns/index.html or on the ICT GAMES link on the right side of our class webpage to see list of words containing of all these sounds we have been learning.
6. See if they can make other words with a “al” but with the /or/ sound.
7. We are learning/revising the Red tricky words.

Grow in Love:There is usually an activity to be completed in it each week.
Super Troopers:We are on Navy Week 4. There are some fun activities to try at home.
Word Wallets/Tools for school: Please ensure that your child has all the sounds/names/tools.
We are talking about the Vikings. 1st Class will continue spellings and tables (-9) There are always activities to be completed on studyladder. We are revising the Tricky Word List 5 and we will have a test on that next week.
