Homework note week 8

Dear Parents,

The children enjoyed their visit to Curraghchase last week. See our class website for some photos. We will have no homework on this Thursday and the children can dress up on Friday if that suits. The following week is midterm and there will be no school.

We have had 7 busy weeks of school so far. Some items are now missing from children’s pencils cases. Please ensure they have an eraser, 2 topped pencils, a glue stick, 2 whiteboard markers and earphones with them.

If you find a test in the homework folder please sign and return it to me.

Word Wallet activities. (These are progressing)

Jolly Phonics – for each sound

1. Match the green sound, make the sound and show you the action.

2. Ask the children to make a word or words using the sounds (green cards) they already have. This week we are working on words that contain the “oo” sound. Try to make these words

Wednesday broom, moon

Sight Word activities. - We will move to new Tricky words after midterm

This week we will talk again about Halloween in Irish and English, learn more about 2D and 3D shapes, the days of the week and 1^st Class will be revising spellings and the 1+, 2+ and 3+ tables.
