Dear Parents,

Thank you for sending in the €4 for the Gymnastics. That will continue on Thursdays. We now have many tools for our class building site. Please ensure that the children are getting a healthy lunch each day. One treat is allowed on a Friday.

Word Wallet activities.

Jolly Phonics – We are learning the alternative ways to spell some of the sounds /y/ (sunny), /ea/, /igh/, /ow/ (snow), /ew/, /ir/, /ur/, /au/, /aw/, /al/, /oy/, /ow/ (cow)

This week we are working on the “ee” sound but spelt as /ea/.

Please get the children to make up the following words. 3 per night

leaf, beans, cheap, clean, east, season, please, mean, heater, leader, neat and cream

Tricky Word activities. – Children will continue learning/revising the Tricky Words. We are on the red List 4 now. See the Tricky words prezi on our class website. We use this in class to practice.

1. Match the coloured card to its place on the white card. (Place the “they” on top of the white “they”)

2. Say the word.

3. Ask the children for a sentence with at least 2 tricky word in it. (Who saw that they were lost.)

We are learning the names of various buildings this week. This will tie in with our Aistear theme. 1St Class are learning tens and units. There are 2 more online Studyladder activities to complete if possible.
