Fr. Donworth said a beautiful retirement mass for Mr. O' Sullivan on Tuesday 19th June in St. Mary's Church Pallaskenry. Míle buiochas to all who contributed to the celebration. Mr. O' Sullivan is retiring this year after 40 years service, 28 of which were spent in Scoil Mhuire N.S. He gave incredible service to the pupils of Scoil Mhuire and will be sorely missed by pupils, staff and parents. When I chatted to the children about Mr. O' Sullivan and the impact he had on them as a teacher they were quick to answer 'We loved Sir', 'Sir was the best teacher ever' 'Sir was amazing', 'Sir kept us on our toes' ! All pupils agree that Sir was a brilliant teacher, strict but fair, firm but quiet. He instilled a love of sport and helped the pupils win many hurling and football trophies over the years. Tim spent a lot of time training the children after school and made sure every child got to play. Participating and playing your best as part of a team was the most important thing. He taught the children how to win and how to lose and they took each equally in their stride. Parents were quick to expound Mr. O' Sullivan's virtues also, 'Mr O' Sullivan is an absolute gentleman', He brings out the best in my child', 'My child is so happy in his class','He is so welcoming', He is so kind and caring', 'He is so calm', 'He would do anything to help and support you'. Tim has been a great colleague and friend to all the staff. He was always there to give advice and support. We are very sorry to see him go. We wish Mr. O' Sullivan health and happiness and many blessings on his retirement.
