The children in 2nd and 3rd class were very fortunate to go on a nature hunt to Curraghchase and Ringmoylan on Wednesday, November 25th . They were accompanied by Geoff Hunt, their teacher Mr. Kiely, Ms. Greene. Kathleen O' Carroll and transition year students Darragh O' Brien, Jane Fitzgerald and Inan Cullen. It was a glorious Winters morning and they really enjoyed observing the sea birds at Ringmoylan Pier, with Geoff sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm and love of nature with the children. The treat of the day was when they all stopped off at Mrs. Dundon's house for hot chocolate and biscuits ! Míle buíochas to Patricia, a former teacher on our staff ,for her kindness and generousity to the children and staff and to Jenny and Carol who were on hand to help out too ! From there they went to Curraghchase, where they had the pleasure of seeing a red squirrel jumping from branch to branch ! After playing in the playground they headed back to school and had a lovely afternoon doing very interesting activities with Geoff. The children created beautiful images and diagrams of all the creatures observed.
