Post date: 03-Apr-2017 13:28:06

Dear Parents,

Thank you for returning the signed Maths Assessment tests. I you did not get your child’s test you will get it this week. We had our religious inspector visiting the school last Thursday and the children were great to answer questions, say prayers and tell stories.

I have a Confirmation on Thursday. It is planned that Mrs. O’Callaghan will be in the class.

If your child needs something I will list it here ________________.

If I need a absence note I will list it here ________________.

Word Wallet activities.

This week we are learning words that have the “ew” sound that sounds like /ue/ - “you”

1. Ask the children to make a word or words using the sounds (green cards) they already have.

2. Try to make these words

3. few, new, dew (Mon)

4. stew, flew, blew (Tues)

5. chew, view, threw (Weds)

6. chewing, screw, jewel (Thurs)

7. See if they can make other words with a “ew” but with the /ue/ sound.

Click into http://www.ictgames.com/phonemePatterns/index.html or on the ICT GAMES link on the right side of our class webpage to see list of words containing of all these sounds we have been learning.
